Colombo is the largest city in Sri Lanka, and is known as a financial and commercial capital of the country. In 5th century, the city was originally a small seaport and who Sinhalese peoples work in generally.

Thereafter Colombo is a city that has witnesses the many changes that took place during colonial rule by the Portuguese, Dutch and British. With the invasion of the Portuguese in 1505, and later by the Dutch, The final foreign invaders were the British who ruled the City from 1796. Colombo came to be a commercial hub in 1978 when the administrative office was shifted to Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte.
