Colombo is the largest city in Sri Lanka, and is known as a financial and commercial capital of the country. In 5th century, the city was originally a small seaport and who Sinhalese peoples work in generally.

Colombo came to be a commercial hub in 1978 when the administrative office was shifted to Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte.
